3-D Prospective Motion Correction for MR Spectroscopy

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Spectroscopy scans generally require averaging (over minutes) to obtain acceptable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Patient motion compromises the quality and reliability of the resulting spectra. Such concerns are particularly acute with subjects who have difficulty holding still, for instance young children or adults who are in pain or confused. Therefore, we implemented a single-voxel H MR spectroscopy sequence with adaptive motion-correction based on the 3-dimensional prospective motion correction module for brain scans described in [1].

Prospective motion correction for single-voxel 1H MR spectroscopy.
Head motion during (1)H MR spectroscopy acquisitions may compromise the quality and reliability of in vivo metabolite measurements. Therefore, a three-plane image-based motion-tracking module was integrated into a single-voxel (1)H MR spectroscopy (point-resolved spectroscopy) sequence. A series of three orthogonal spiral navigator images was acquired immediately prior to the MR spectroscopy wa...
متن کاملMR-based and Optical Prospective Motion Correction for High Resolution DWI with RS-EPI
Introduction: Recently, multiple approaches have been proposed to perform motion correction for diffusion imaging using optical tracking with cameras [1,2] or using MR-based methods which perform real-time registration between volumes [3-5]. In this study, we demonstrate the application of and compare both optical and MR-based motion correction to high-resolution diffusion-weighted imaging usin...
متن کاملProspective motion correction in brain imaging: a review.
Motion correction in magnetic resonance imaging by real-time adjustment of the imaging pulse sequence was first proposed more than 20 years ago. Recent advances have resulted from combining real-time correction with new navigator and external tracking mechanisms capable of quantifying rigid-body motion in all 6 degrees of freedom. The technique is now often referred to as "prospective motion co...

متن کاملHybrid Prospective & Retrospective Head Motion Correction System to Mitigate Cross-Calibration Errors
INTRODUCTION – Correction of head motion artifacts is essential for clinically acceptable image quality. This is especially important for long scans, such as DTI, fMRI, and high-resolution structural scans. Prospective motion-correction using stereovision systems [1,2] have been suggested to perform real-time head motion-correction without necessitating the acquisition of additional MR-based na...
